Therapeutic approach

Dr. Belzile practices psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. His approach rests on an understanding of the unconscious processes that shape how we relate to others and to ourselves. It is through the therapeutic relationship that the change you are seeking can take place.

When working with couples, Dr. Belzile takes an analytic perspective, exploring the unconscious dynamics that structure the relationship and the impasses the couple encounters.

Committed to the ongoing deepening of his psychoanalytic practice, Dr. Belzile has been in Lacanian supervision since 2021 and regularly attends the monthly meetings of the Pont Freudien. For the past three years he has followed the monthly seminars for young clinicians at the Société Psychanalytique de Montréal (SPM). The clinic he founded meets twice a month to read foundational psychoanalytic texts. He is also the lead editor of the blog at psychologues-montreal.net.
